The ultra broadband beamsplitter is made by UV fused silica, with very thin aluminum coating on single surface. When the beamsplitter is mounted at 45 degrees with respect to a beam of light 200-2000nm, it separates the beam into two orthogonal beams. The ratio of the power in the beams is determined by the coating. Typical R/T ratios are 30:70 and 50:50.
